  • more BUYERS for your back-end products so you can make more money NOW, and
  • more AFFILIATES and JV PARTNERS to sell more of your products and send you more subscribers.

The best possible outcome for YOU, of course, is when you can turn your BUYERS into your most productive, profitable SELLERS. (More about this later.)

But the cold, harsh reality of most Giveaway events is that they FAIL to deliver real leverage for most contributors.

Here's why…

  1. Leverage is about taking small numbers and turning them into BIG numbers through the power of synergy.
     
  2. If you try to turn BIG numbers into BIG numbers… where's the LEVERAGE?
     
  3. The most powerful — and intelligent — form of leverage is using quality (cause) to create quantity (effect).
     
  4. The most useless — and dumbest — form of "leverage" (delusion!) is trying to use quantity to create quantity.

Reasons 2 and 4 aren't leverage at all. They're an illusion of leverage — the wrong things for the wrong reasons!

How does this apply to most Giveaway events?

For a start, they typically try to get the largest quantities they can, up-front — and ignore quality in the process. So leverage for most contributors is usually lousy. (Great for the promoters, of course, but that's a whole other story.)

So they end up with a contributor base of 100 or 200 or more — and a MOUNTAIN of mediocre, over-exposed, poorly-written, badly presented, low-quality products that hide a tiny handful of quality ones.

Most of the promotion is done by the contributors to their own lists in the hope of siphoning-off members from other contributors' lists. Contributors with smaller lists are at a distinct disadvantage, though, because their position in the product catalogue is determined largely by the size of their lists and the number of people they can get to sign up for the event. You can even lose your place in the event and have your product deleted.

Unless you pay for higher rankings, of course. (So quantity of cash can overcome poor quality products or poor quality promotion and recruiting.)

If that's how most Giveaway events work, the obvious question is… where's the LEVERAGE?

(Hint: Look a bit more closely at the promoters and their "Guru" contributors.)

The Ugly Truth

Sadly, most Giveaway events are PARASITIC in nature. Contributors sign up to leech each others' mailing lists, earn commissions off each others' upgrade fees and earn commissions off each others' back-end sales.

Don't get me wrong — I have no objection to people earning legitimate commissions. Profit is what being in business is about. But, far too often, there's a hard core of regular Giveaway event contributors who toss in a few over-hyped, poor quality products with the expectation that this "sucker bait" will lead them to limitless riches. They hype the event to their lists in order to win prizes and points (for product positioning) and to make commissons off the upgrade fees of those list members who join the Giveaway event as contributors and imitate their "mentors". So you end up with a Giveaway event that's a lot like fishing in a toilet bowl. You'll catch very few fish — just a whole pile of something else entirely!
